A new Generation
There is no doubt the face of Togo has changed and shines from a present and announciative prospects of a glorious sequence of a new chapter in its history. Whichever side we take, whichever pos ture we perceive, judge and gauge, Togo shows such a proud look despite an A f rican environment severely felt by episodes that have been and that contin ue to shake almost all countries of the world, especially those in Africa further weakened by the rise of oil and its dras tic impact in terms of soaring prices of life, the world food crisis and for some time now the stock gust at the International scale.

Facing caps led by a tough global econo my, Togo knew how to face all of that, with admirable results fertilized by a sur prising political will and initiatives to the ex tent of the challenges ahead. The recovery at a steady pace of the coopera tion with the European Union, the I n te rn a tional Monetary Fund and the World Bank is a proof of credibility by Togo.
The warming of relations between Togo and its partners includes the process of a policy of endogenous economic tag that will build a powerful and attractive envi ronment for business investments and businesses that carry wealth.
The shock of the price surge was greatly a tte n u a ted by social measures well inspired as the raising of salaries, the recruitment in the public function which is part of a wider policy to promote employment, free school supplies in pri mary schools, subsidies to production to effectively contain the negative factors of the food crisis and the setting in motion of a strategy so that the load shedding of electricity will soon be a dis tant memory.
The economic recove ry which has already produced fruits that allow the future that sing and delight in Togo will soon be on the reconstruction of the mining sector, but also many infrastruc tures of a new generation.
S u c cessful initi a ti ves and relevant to revive the economic tool take shape and form in a new socio politic subsided, thanks to the virtues, almost miraculous of a national reconciliation that sows the good seed of the fraternal solidarity, of fruitful democratic debates with a social e nvironment background much more conducive nowadays to put the Togolese back on the job around the essential.
The recent legislative elections have confirmed, with a beautiful glow which light jets have set the admiration in Africa, that Togo has decided to open a new page written by an upgrading gener ation, full of enthusiasm and determina tion, but also a vision for the future. This new generation, far from the arid fight ing past has “ R I N GA R D I S E ” a n “AVACHIE” opposition using the same speech that became dull and the same focused political fa ces and the same methods shaped by nearly 40 years of ineffective radicalism.
Signals are sent to the old guard that must retain the lesson of wisdom: "It is a time during which it is wiser to leave pol i tics before politics leaves yo u . Otherwise, you will leave by the back door of history.”
On another slightly different aspect, it should be noted the puerility of the sup porters of the restoration of a political order which no longer meets the requirements of current changes and generational Interpellations applying a quest for a better future. Recent events have confirmed that the Togolese and the A rmy at the top remain fi rm l y attached to republican principles and a sovereign rule of law that is being built patiently but persistently with President Faure.
Today, Togo has turned the page of the political, economic and diplomatic ten sion. It is placed on the rainbow of an African continent that moves, that refus es the inevitability sterile fatality and that is yearning for stability. It moves slowly but surely towards the promise of happi ness.
Yielding to any cult of personality is to recognize that all these jewels of the nation that are forged, or that have reformed have as a silversmith President Faure Gnassingbé. Togolese and foreign observers, witnesses of the past and the present ended up by recognizing his m e rits, the humanist he is, fi e r ce l y opposed to the cult of violence, hatred and revenge.
The promotion of national reconciliation and so many acts in this area where the involvement of the opposition to the var ious governments testify, if necessary, the willingness of Faure Gnassingbé to be a leader and a man of tolerance and o p e n i n g. What is perce i ved as an absence to him is in reality the expres sion of modesty and of a discretion that does not exclude efficiency. Some may have forgotten or obliterated that this young President had matured and l e a rned in the shadow of a gr e a t President whose Pedagogy of the State was one of nothing but undisputable qualities. The most beautiful wonders are yet to come. With a Togo ... truly very Faure...
